MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 9, 2010 – Honeywell (NYSE:HON) today announced it is helping manage demand response programs for two new utility customers — Westar Energy in Topeka, Kan. and We Energies in Milwaukee, Wis. The programs, funded through contracts worth a combined $16.5 million, will help lower customer energy bills, and decrease consumption when demand on the electrical grid and production costs peak. As a result, the utilities can help stabilize prices and reduce the need to build additional power plants.

Barry Callebaut and Kraft Foods sign global supply agreement

Zurich, Switzerland – Barry Callebaut, the world’s largest manufacturer of high-quality cocoa and chocolate products, and Kraft Foods Inc. (NYSE: KFT), the world’s second largest food company and a global leader in confectionery, today announced the signing of a long-term global master product agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, the parties expect Barry Callebaut to deliver the majority of Kraft Foods cocoa products and industrial chocolate requirements around the world. The agreement, which also includes some of the Cadbury liquid chocolate deliveries under the current outsourcing agreement, is expected to more than double Barry Callebaut’s existing business with Kraft Foods. The parties agreed not to disclose any further terms of the agreement.

Wärtsilä and Turboden sign agreement to launch Wärtsilä Marine ECC

Wärtsilä, the marine industry’s leading solution provider, has signed an exclusive agreement with Turboden of Italy to jointly develop, market, and distribute the Wärtsilä Marine Engine Combined Cycle (ECC) product. Marine ECC is to be based on Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology. The two companies will gain synergistic benefits from the combined strength of Wärtsilä’s global presence in the marine market, and from Turboden’s leadership and experience in developing ORC technology. Turboden is a Pratt & Whitney Power Systems company. The joint development work will initially focus on applying the ORC technology for ship applications, and the Wärtsilä Marine ECC product is expected to enter the market during 2011.
