PM inaugurates International Conference on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy-2009 on tuesday

A three-day International Conference on ‘Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy-2009’ will be held on 29th September 2009 at Vigyan Bhawan. Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India will inaugurate the Conference. The Conference is being organised as a part of the year long programme to mark the birth centenary year of Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha who was the founder of the Indian Atomic Energy Programme and also had the distinction of being the President of the first International Conference on this subject held in Geneva in 1955. It is being organised by the Department of Atomic Energy in association with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Indian Nuclear Society (INS). With a back drop of the progress made in the last five decades, this Conference will aim at discussing options that would contribute to developing a future road map for the growth of nuclear energy and its peaceful applications.

Global Financial Crisis Has Not Shaken Investors Confidence: E&Y-ASSOCHAM

The Survey jointly undertaken by the Ernst & Young and ASSOCHAM has revealed that the global financial crisis has not significantly dampened investor confidence in India for infrastructure investments.
